Administrator Position at Friends of the Vermont State House

Friends of the Vermont State House is seeking a part time (10-15 hours/week) Administrator.  We are a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation of the historical integrity and promotion of public understanding and appreciation of the Vermont State House.  "Friends" activity is, in general, determined by the Friends mission to conserve historic treasures in the State House and build appreciation for the building and educational outreach among Vermonters and visitors, while recognizing its primary function as the seat of the Vermont State Legislature.

The Administrator for Friends works to assist, support and facilitate activities as deemed by the Board of Trustees and in collaboration with the Office of the State Curator.  Essential attention by the Administrator is devoted to facilitate communication and completion of tasks and undertaking among Board members and associates.

The Administrator should have strong bookkeeping skills in order to prepare payment of invoices and process them on time to avoid penalty.  S/he prepares bank deposits, ensure checks are signed in a timely manner by the Treasurer or other account signatory, records donations into the Past Perfect database and processes donor thank you letters in a timely fashion.  S/he will manage sales and receipts of the Friends pictorial coffee table book, "Intimate Grandeur."

The ideal candidate will have flexibility in their schedule so that s/he can attend various committee meetings to take and distribute Minutes.  

Salary is commensurate with applicant's experience and qualifications.
