Seasonal Tours

Guided tours, run by our trained volunteers, are available on the half hour, July through October, Mondays through Fridays from 10 am until 3:30 pm. On Saturdays, tours begin on the half hour from 11:00 am. until 2:30 pm. The legislature is not in session during these months, making most of our beautiful, restored State House accessible.

Group tours must be arranged in advance by calling (802) 828-2228, the Sergeant-at-Arms office. If it is expected that a group will lunch in the State House cafeteria during their visit, arrangements should also be made in advance, but group Tours during the legislative session January through May require special arrangements. School Tours have specific requirements.

Self-touring
when guides are not available is possible by using our informative map/brochure of the Capitol building. Most public rooms are open, but a few can be viewed only through the open door unless a guide is present. The Vermont State House is open Mondays through Saturdays from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm.

OR

The Volunteer Recruitment Committee meeting to discuss ways to reach more, much needed, volunteers.

The Audio Tour with our "magic wands" is available from the Sgt.-at-Arms office. Topics may be chosen individually according to the interest of the user. There is no charge for use.
